Berkeley Air & Space Center is a proposed, 36-acre innovation center at NASA Ames in the heart of Silicon Valley where academia, private industry and government come together to identify, incubate and launch tomorrow’s technological breakthroughs. UC Berkeley is developing academic and research initiatives for Berkeley Air & Space Center that span many areas of focus, including, but not limited to, aerospace, advanced aviation, quantum computing and data science, robotics and autonomy, biotech, advanced materials and manufacturing, and other deep technology disciplines. Partnerships and research collaborations have already been established in advance of the physical development.
OUR VISION
Berkeley Air & Space Center would be Silicon Valley’s New Space Tech Hub where the brightest minds from across the globe come together to explore, ask questions and improve our understanding of and access to space. They are dreamers, they are explorers, they are collaborators, they are builders and they are entrepreneurs. The Project represents the realization of Berkeley's vision to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship across the breadth and depth of academia and government partnerships, accelerate the translation of research discoveries into goods and services that benefit the public while creating opportunity. This work will accelerate the engagements of UC Berkeley with NASA, while also allowing for industry participation. By embracing innovation and entrepreneurship across the breadth and depth of academia and government partnerships, UC Berkeley will accelerate the translation of research discoveries into goods and services that benefit society.
